Mylene in her new shop, standing by the recycled
glass display. It's a must see place. She has some of
the most unique items for the home and personal
use that I have ever seen. She even has a pet section...

A few things that I picked up.
Naturally, I bought the recycled paper (heart shaped)
called "Ellie Pooh" ... and just as the name
implies...elephant dung...cleaned and
recycled, of course!
Stop by and say hello.
After that, go by the Paper Niche in Plantation
and see what's new there.

before & after
We have a "spare" room in the house that had
become a storage room. Instead of being embarrased,
I decided to share! Please do not judge...LOL
After many months of procrastinating, my
daughters, Gina & Maria, (used to be their room)
came over to help me sort through all this clutter.
Dominic was the strong box mover and he hauled
many items to my car to be taken to Goodwill, as
well as lots of garbage, and a portion going to the
Historical Society Gift Shop in Plantation.
This was like therapy and also physically
exhausting...but worth it. It took us two days
with just a few more things to finish today.
We made a trip to Goodwill in the afternoon yesterday
and the rest will go today! FREEDOM!
arg...what was I thinking saving all this stuff?
so nice!
a bunch of junk!
I am taking the fake headboard out today
a mountain of stuff!
peace & tranquility...now I can buy some pretty
bed quilts and pillows...hey, I may move in here!

laurie's surprise party!
It was Laurie's (Paper Niche) 55th birthday and
her best friend, Fran, surprised her with family
and friends at Brio Tuscan Grille for brunch,
in Pembroke Pines.
It was fantastic. She was so surprised, she laughed
and cried at the same time.
The food was great, Fran read a funny poem that
she wrote and we all said a little something to
the birthday girl.
A good time was had by all.
These were the place cards we took home,
cute metal purse/frames.

our new family friend
This gnome was a gift to Dominic
for graduation. He plans on taking
it everywhere with him and taking
pictures of their adventure together.
We haven't "gnamed" him yet.
Any suggestions?

still awake
This is Maria's new tote...I love it!
The straps are bead chips!
(it has nothing to do with the story below)
well, I did get something done...
made Rico his lunch for tomorrow,
organized some paper, filled a scrapbook
with printed paper ( to be scrapped later),
moved a folding table to start setting up for
my bead class on Thursday, sent a couple of e-mails,
checked a blog that I found yesterday and I think
that's it...nothing worth taking a picture of, but
mission accomplished anyway.
I may attempt sleep again...I wish I wasn't such a big chicken
to go swimming alone at night, because that's what I want to do.
I guess a bath will have to do.

counting sheep
another restless night...
I either go to bed at 11:00 and
wake by 3:00 or can't sleep until
around 2:00 and then up at 6:00.
oh well, at least I always have something
to do during these times.
I always check my e-mail, wander through
the house looking for projects to start, or
take out either beads or paper and create
something...
maybe I'll take a photo of what I end up doing.

I love a parade!

Rico & I on Broward
waving
the merritt's tank
rakeeb & his mom
our police
en route
dennis c
cute dog
sharon b (my friend & hairdresser)
the woman's club trolley
dominic on the sidelines
flags at city hall

old glory
army tank
The annual 4th of July parade runs down Broward Blvd
to city hall in Plantation.
Rico & I were in a convertible and I took pictures
of the crowd on the sidelines while he threw candy and waved.
We had a great time during the day, but the festivities
were rained out in the evening.
The fireworks went off anyway, but we stayed home because
of all the lightning.

party on
this is my favorite picture of the night!
Dominic's graduation party was great.
Having the entire family and so many of our
friends in the same place was amazing.
Family, friends, food & fun...the best alliteration.
